arkTrust Development re-invests heavily in its
marketplace by supporting numerous community improvement initiatives, such as the Children's Discovery Center and Parks' own "Christmas for the Children" charity, which has raised over a half million dollars. The charity annually provides for over 500 underprivileged children in middle Tennessee.
The joy of finding a family the perfect home is second only to the joy of giving back to the community and its people.
"Christmas for the Children" began in 1979 when Bob Parks suggested to some of his agents that instead of buying something for him, they should use the money to help families in the community. Today, in concert with Cavalry Banking, Parks continues the tradition of purchasing items on childrens' wish lists and giving them a Christmas party, complete with lunch, entertainment and Santa. Children are nominated by the Rutherford County and Murfreesboro City Schools, as well as area outreach programs.
Other Bob Parks offices throughout middle Tennessee have joined in and extended this tradition. Together, their fund-raising events now gather over $100,000 annually to help the area's less fortunate children and families.
