Company History
arkTrust Development is chaired by Bob Parks, founder and principal broker of Bob Parks Realty. In 1977 Parks, who founded his realty company two years earlier, realized that residential development was a natural extension of his business. He saw an opportunity to develop residential building lots and sell them to home builders who, in turn, would likely list the homes with Bob Parks Realty. the business model worked, and served as the launching point for today's business.

Harney had cultivated an interest in commercial construction and development while working with his father, Jack Harney, and under the mentorship of the late J. W. Cross of Franklin. Together Parks and Harney have a breadth of commercial and residential development experience that has helped ParkTrust grow into a preeminent development company in Middle Tennessee.
By 2005, ParkTrust Development was developing over 700 home sites per year, with lot sales exceeding $43 million annually. That same year, ParkTrust launched its 75th residential neighborhood. ParkTrust communities range from starter-home neighborhoods to rural estates to elegant, gated communities in some of the market's most sought-after locations.
ParkTrust is also actively engaged in developing distinctive commercial properties. Lincoln Square, a 58,000 square foot, Class A office park in the rapidly-growing Cool Springs area of Williamson County, is one recent example of the company's commercial development success. Sales in Lincoln Square totaled nearly $1 million during 2002.
The company's affiliation with Bob Parks Realty is considered one of its greatest strengths. ParkTrust Development works closely with 600 BPR agents, keeping them abreast of its new communities, participating builders and available homes. In exchange, BPR provides ParkTrust with invaluable insight and market intelligence to guide its future development plans. |
